Read to Succeed Buffalo is not just a non-profit agency -- and Read to Succeed is more than the sum of its coalition partners. Read to Succeed Buffalo is a grass roots movement to bring sustainable, systematic change to our community by improving student achievement by preparing our youngest children for school with an emphasis on language and literacy skills.
Read to Succeed depends on you. And you can make a very real impact, whether you are an individual supporter or a representative of an organization. We gladly accept gifts and support of all kinds! Read to Succeed Buffalo is a not-for-profit agency recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity by the Internal Revenue Service. Gifts and contributions may qualify for a tax deduction to the limits allowed by law.
The easiest way to make the quickest impact is to make an outright cash donation to Read to Succeed Buffalo. You can also use a credit card or make your gift by check.
You can make your gift securely online and receive immediate confirmation of your contribution by E-mail by visiting our online donation page. Or you can mail your gift to Read to Succeed Buffalo, 392 Pearl Street, Buffalo, New York 14202. All gifts are appropriately acknowledged for your record keeping needs.
The Community Leadership Council recognizes donors who make gifts of $500 and higher. These individuals, families and organizations demonstrate their belief in the Read to Succeed vision by making leadership-level contributions. They are among the first to receive the latest Read to Succeed news and announcements and enjoy many other benefits - such as private briefings by key Read to Succeed leaders, name recognition in the newsletter and annual report, and special invitations to Read to Succeed events and activities. Membership is extended to individuals for $500 and couples or families for $600.
Matching Gifts
Many companies match their employees' charitable giving. Check with your human resources department to see if your employer is one of them.
Gifts of Stock
Read to Succeed accepts gifts of appreciated stock.
Bequests and Trusts
Contact your attorney, accountant or financial advisor to learn how you can provide for your heirs or increase your retirement income by including Read to Succeed Buffalo, Inc. in your will or estate plans. If you don't have a professional advisor, Read to Succeed can provide you with the names of several independent advisors who can answer your questions.
Tributes and Memorials
Recognize or remember a friend or loved one by making a donation in their honor or memory. This is a terrific way to remember a deceased colleague, friend or loved one -- or pay tribute to someone on their birthday, anniversary, graduation, holiday or other special occasion.
Organizations make gifts to charitable institutions for many of the same reasons as individuals. Whether you represent a corporation, foundation, community group, or service club - your support means a great deal to Read to Succeed. Corporate Partners
Read to Succeed welcomes the interest and support of corporate partners. From retail promotions designed to generate traffic & sales to sponsorships that provide meaningful exposure and goodwill, Read to Succeed will work with you and your team to design a program that meets your needs while providing funds to further literacy in our community.
Community Groups and Service Clubs
It will take 100% community participation to reach our goal of 100% literacy. Community associations, social groups, block clubs and service organizations can all play an active role in funding, engaging in, and advocating for Read to Succeed. Invite us to your next meeting and learn about the challenges and opportunities we all face - and then sit with us as we craft a mutually agreeable plan to leverage the strengths of your members to solve this critical community issue.
Foundations
Read to Succeed receives grant funding from a variety of foundations - community, corporate, and private. Our programs are designed from the ground up to fit the needs and interests of the community while infusing literacy at all levels. They feature measurable goals, provide functionality for community feedback, and are modeled on the highest quality standards. Grants to Read to Succeed are excellent investments that provide returns your organization will be proud of. Local grants have proven pivotal in engaging the support of national funding sources. For every dollar secured from local sources, Read to Succeed has been able to leverage three to four dollars from national organizations.
And all grant makers receive the opportunity to become further engaged in the program or programs they fund while receiving regular reports showing program progress and providing financial accountability.
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that Read to Succeed Buffalo merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in Read to Succeed, we have adopted the Donor Bill of Rights as developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, the Council for Advancement & Support of Education and the Giving Institute.
