On October 22, 2015 Read to Succeed Buffalo is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Jumpstart's Read for the Record®! On this special day participants will read Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, written by Kelly Bennett and illustrated by Noah Z. Jones, in an attempt to break the world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day. RTSB is proud to lead WNY in this global effort to raise awareness regarding how important it is for caregivers to read out loud to their infants, toddlers, and young children. Reading aloud and talking with children right from birth are the best ways to increase a child's vocabulary and instill a love of reading that will last a lifetime!
Once again, RTSB will assist in matching volunteers with organizations looking for guest readers as well as registering participants. If you are looking to volunteer as a guest reader or are looking for a guest reading for your organization, please contact Lisa McCue at[email protected].
Otherwise, getting involved in Jumpstart's Read for the Record® is easy - visit http://www.readfortherecord.org today to order your special editions of Not Norman, register to read, and download free activity materials and resources. For printable flyers, click here.
