Recent studies show that if students face three risk factors--they are poor, live in a poor neighborhood and do not read well in third grade—they are 17  times less likely to graduate from high school with their peers than students with none of those risks (The Annie E. Casey Foundation, March, 2012).

How can you help more children in your community be successful in school?  Invest in high quality early education!

RTSB depends on you. And you can make a very real impact, whether you are an individual supporter or a representative of an organization. We gladly accept gifts and support of all kinds! RTSB is a not-for-profit agency recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity by the Internal Revenue Service. Gifts and contributions may qualify for a tax deduction to the limits allowed by law.

Every dollar invested in early childhood education produces a return on investment as high as $16 and benefits society as a whole through:

  • Higher high school graduation rates and academic achievement
  • Lower rates of crime, teen pregnancy, and public assistance dependency
  • Higher levels of lifetime workforce productivity

Your gift can impact literacy and high quality child care initiatives right here in Buffalo.  For example:

  • $25 can buy literacy games for licensed child care homes caring for young children
  • $50 can supply arts and crafts games to support fine motor skills and social development for a licensed home child care site
  • $100 can support one story time event for 150 toddlers and preschoolers
  • $250 can transform one classroom into a high quality literacy environment
  • $500 can support an educational field trip for 150 children
  • $1,000 can provide an entire year of literacy intervention for one child

Or, you can mail your gift to:
