The John R. Oishei Foundation gave Read to Succeed Buffalo a grant Friday of $115,000 renewing its commitment to the early childhood literacy organization.

"Research shows that children who are prepared to begin school will continue to succeed, and those who are not ready will continue to fall behind," said Robert D. Gioia, the foundation's president.

"Read to Succeed is making a difference in preparing our youngest children for kindergarten, and in giving them a chance for future academic success."
